The Salt Spring Island Local Trust Committee asked staff to prepare a report on 265 Furness Road and return to the trustees, after a delegation sought clarification about residential use of a log house on the property.[1]
The bylaw compliance and enforcement manager said the land-use bylaw does not permit the building to be used as a dwelling, and recommended that trustees review legal opinions before taking further action.[2]
The delegation said the covenant on the property was understood to allow a farm worker to live there, and asked trustees to direct staff to interpret it that way.[2]
The minutes record that the motion to request a staff report carried.[1]
