The Salt Spring Local Trust Committee and Local Community Commission discussed how to address short-term vacation rentals, including a proposed roundtable with the accommodation industry and seeking access to provincial data. The minutes record discussion of a roundtable and a letter to the province seeking access to the Bill 35 data-sharing portal.[1]
The minutes also record that the OCP update would include a technical working group on short-term rentals, and that the Island Trust would report on provincial Bill 35 implications for Salt Spring Island.[1]
The minutes say Ganges village planning had been merged with the OCP review, and that the LCC would host a discussion on developing an integrated housing strategy, with Trustee Patrick and Planner Hutton invited.[1]
